This week, I wanted to share a picture of a young man from the early 1900’s. I have studied this face for some time and it was bothering me because I could not identify him. I selected him for this Wednesday’s Who Am I picture……
A few years ago I received my first message on Ancestory.com from a distant relative. My Grandmother and her mother were cousins. And she wanted more information on my Great Grandmother Florence Hinkley Keele. She shared a Hinkley Family portrait. I studied it then because it was digital I filed with my family research to share with family at another time.
And then last night it hit me. I took the young man’s portrait and I found the family picture and there he was, a Hinkley all this time. Walter Willard Hinkley to be exact. He was born in 1885 and died in 1912.
Before I had a chance to post I answered the question.
Lesson learned, compare photos of individuals you are trying to identify with ones you have of the same vintage that are identified and you just might solve your mystery. Well in my case one mystery. Now on to solve the next mystery.
