In Judges 6, we meet Gideon—an unlikely hero whom God calls to lead Israel. Unsure and afraid, Gideon seeks confirmation not once but twice using a fleece. First, he asks God to make the fleece wet with dew while the ground stays dry. Then he asks for the opposite. Both times, God graciously responds.

Gideon’s story reminds us that even faithful people wrestle with uncertainty. While we’re not encouraged to test God or rely solely on signs, we are encouraged to seek His guidance when facing decisions. Today, that guidance comes through prayer, Scripture, wise counsel, and the Holy Spirit’s peace.

Gideon’s courage didn’t come from the fleece—it came from realizing God was with him.

When you’re unsure, ask God for clarity—but trust that He’s already gone ahead of you.

Make space to listen, and move forward in faith, not fear.

This is the lesson we are learning as we make a major change. This change requires us to dig up our roots that we have planted in Rockford these last 15 years and move to a yet to be determined location. Stephen has accepted a new position at a different plant, and we know God has already gone ahead of us on this journey.
