Matthew 6:33-34

“33 <\/strong>But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 <\/strong>Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life has a way of pulling our attention in a dozen different directions at once. Bills to pay. Decisions to make. Problems to solve. Futures to plan. It\u2019s easy \u2014 almost natural \u2014 to slip into a pattern where we chase solutions, comfort, or control first, and then turn to God once we\u2019ve exhausted every other option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Jesus invites us into a different way of living. A freer way. A better way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn\u2019t just a verse to memorize \u2014 it\u2019s a perspective to live from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus flips our instinctive priorities upside down. Instead of scrambling to fix life and then asking God to bless our efforts, He calls us to start with Him. Seek first.<\/strong> Not second. Not eventually. Not when things get bad enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When God becomes our first pursuit, everything else finds its proper place.<\/p>\n\n\n

Seeking God\u2019s Kingdom Means Aligning Our Desires<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Seeking God\u2019s kingdom isn\u2019t about adding more religious activity to our schedule. It\u2019s about aligning our hearts with His purposes. It\u2019s asking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does God want in this situation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What reflects His character<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advances His kingdom, not just my comfort<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we seek His kingdom first, our desires begin to shift. Our decisions become clearer. Our priorities become healthier. Our lives become more centered.<\/p>\n\n\n

Jesus follows His command to \u201cseek first\u201d with a reminder not to worry about tomorrow. Why? Because worry is a thief. It drags our minds into a future we can\u2019t control and blinds us to God\u2019s presence in the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worry says, \u201cWhat if\u2026?\u201d Trust says, \u201cEven if\u2026 God is faithful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeking first means choosing trust over anxiety \u2014 not because life is easy, but because God is near.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God Promises Provision When We Prioritize His Purposes<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jesus doesn\u2019t promise a life free from challenges, but He does promise this: When we put God first, He takes responsibility for the rest.<\/strong> \u201c…and all these things will be added to you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He knows what we need. He sees what we lack. He cares about what weighs on us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provision follows priority.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cSeek first\u201d isn\u2019t a one-time decision \u2014 it\u2019s a rhythm. A posture. A daily re-centering of our hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some days it feels natural. Other days, it feels like a battle. But every day, it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we seek God first, we don\u2019t just reorder our priorities \u2014 we renew our perspective. We begin to see life through the lens of His kingdom, not our chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n
