We celebrate the impressive, the influential, the accomplished. We\u2019re trained to hide our weaknesses and highlight our wins. But Paul\u2019s words to the Corinthians flip that entire script upside down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>1 Corinthians 1:26\u201331<\/strong>&nbsp;and <strong>4:6\u20137<\/strong>, Paul reminds the church that the story of God is not a story of human greatness climbing upward. It\u2019s a story of divine grace reaching downward. Not many were powerful. Not many were of noble birth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words: <em>God didn\u2019t choose you because you were impressive.<\/em>&nbsp;He chose you because He is gracious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Corinthian church was tempted to build spiritual hierarchies \u2014 to elevate the gifted, the eloquent, the influential. Received. Your opportunities? Received. Your salvation? Received. Your spiritual gifts? Received. Your growth? Received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When everything is a gift, boasting becomes absurd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace doesn\u2019t just save us \u2014 it reshapes how we see ourselves. It turns arrogance into gratitude. It turns comparison into worship. It turns entitlement into humility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Love Is Not Arrogant<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul describes love as patient, kind, and \u2014 importantly \u2014 <strong>not arrogant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrogance is the belief that I am the source of my own strength. Humility is the recognition that God is the source of everything good in me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Love chooses humility because humility creates space for God to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And here\u2019s the surprising part: <strong>Love embraces weakness as the place where God\u2019s power shows up.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weakness isn\u2019t something to hide. It\u2019s not pretending you have nothing to offer. It\u2019s not denying your gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Humility is worship \u2014 the joyful acknowledgment that every good thing in your life is from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s shifting the spotlight from ourselves to the One who deserves it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we boast in the Lord, we become free from the exhausting pressure to prove ourselves. We become people marked not by arrogance, but by gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where Is God Inviting You to Embrace Weakness?<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This week, consider this question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is God inviting you to embrace weakness instead of hiding it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A place where you feel inadequate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A relationship where you feel insecure<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A habit you can\u2019t fix on your own<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fear you\u2019ve been masking<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A limitation you wish you didn\u2019t have<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What if that very weakness is the doorway to God\u2019s power? What if humility is not a step backward, but a step deeper into love?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Love Chooses Humility<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Corinthians struggled with arrogance because they forgot grace. We struggle with arrogance for the same reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when we remember that everything is a gift, humility becomes natural.
