Envy is one of those quiet sins we rarely talk about, yet it has a loud impact on our hearts. It creeps in when someone else succeeds, grows, or receives attention we wish we had. It whispers that we\u2019re falling behind, that we\u2019re not enough, that someone else\u2019s gain is somehow our loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul addresses this head-on in 1 Corinthians 3:1\u201315; 3:21\u201323<\/strong>, pairing it with the simple but challenging truth from 1 Corinthians 13:4<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love does not envy.<\/strong> Love celebrates God\u2019s work in others instead of competing with them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Immaturity of Envy<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Imagine a church where envy is replaced with celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where someone\u2019s spiritual growth sparks gratitude, not insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where someone\u2019s gifting inspires encouragement, not comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where someone\u2019s success is seen as a win for the whole body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what Paul envisions \u2014 a community where rivalry is replaced by edification, where jealousy is replaced by joy, where love creates a culture of celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we celebrate others, we declare that God\u2019s goodness is not scarce.<\/p>\n\n\n

Who Can You Intentionally Celebrate This Week?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This week, take one intentional step toward celebration:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Affirm a gift you see in a friend or leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrate someone\u2019s answered prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encourage someone who\u2019s stepping into a new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank someone whose ministry has blessed you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebration is a spiritual discipline. It trains our hearts to see God\u2019s work \u2014 not just in us, but in others.<\/p>\n\n\n
